Destination - Taiwan

Taiwan (or the Republic of China as it is officially known and not to be confused with the People’s Republic of China as the mainland is called) is the perfect place for those looking to blend their teaching experience with culture, history, modernity and more than a dash of exhilaration. Situated just off the east coast of Mainland China, Taiwan is at once a political and diplomatic oddity – due to its unofficial sovereign status - and a reasonably healthy democracy - although not without its fair share of scandalous politicians.  But for a country that is less than 400km in length and only 144 km across, it sure has a lot to offer.
